ENERGY TIP

Although your double-hung single-pane windows with interior storms are certainly not the most energy efficient available, it would not be cost-effective to replace them from an energy savings perspective alone. As an example, for a two-foot by four-foot window this would equate to $8 in annual savings. If you compare that to the $400 or higher cost for that window, you are looking at a multiple decades payback period. So try using our weatherazation tips to help lower costs.

Trampoline in Power Line

WAVERLY, Iowa (June 23, 2010) – Tyler Plate, a Waverly Light and Power Journey Lineman, found a trampoline lodged in a power line on Horton Road on the north side of Waverly early this morning after a customer phone call alerted the Law Center and the utility of the situation. He called the line crew for assistance.

“I’ve never seen anything like that before,” said Jarred Juhl, Journey Lineman, who responded along with Jeff Snively, Line Foreman. “The best part is that the trampoline lodged itself in the line but only caused a voltage dip for a fraction of a second. The voltage dip was so small it didn’t even cause an outage.”

The Utility did experience outages in the community overnight because of the storms. Read the details about the outages.
