WAVERLY, Iowa (August 30, 2011) – Waverly Light and Power’s average outage time was far shorter than other Midwest municipal utilities included in a reliability study undertaken by the American Public Power Association (APPA).
While the average duration of customer outages on the survey was 120 minutes, Waverly Light and Power averaged just 49 minutes.
“We’re pleased to continue the solid record of reliability customers have come to expect from Waverly Light and Power,” said General Manager, Diane Johnson. “Commercial, residential and industrial customers all benefit when our crews are able to restore power as quickly as possible.”
Waverly Light and Power was designated as a Reliable Public Power Provider, a distinction it has earned every year since the award’s inception.
