Waverly Light and Power's Appliance Recycling Event A Success

WAVERLY, Iowa (October 10, 2011) — Local residents brought approximately 160 appliances to Waverly Light and Power’s Appliance Recycling event Oct. 1. Utility officials estimate energy savings from the old appliances is equivalent to the energy consumed by 11 homes during one year. Waverly Light and Power employees donated more than 50 volunteer hours to this event, which celebrated Public Power Week and included rebates for qualifying appliance purchases.
