Saving money feels great. So does making a choice that minimizes the environmental impact of your home during the building process and in the years to come.

Standards that Raise the Bar for Energy Efficiency

To qualify for an ENERGY STAR NEW HOME PROGRAM rebate, new homes must meet stringent energy-efficiency standards in the following areas:

  • Envelope insulation
  • Infiltration
  • Ductwork design criteria
  • Windows and doors
  • Water heaters
  • Heating equipment
  • Cooling
  • Lighting equipment and appliances

Program Rules

  • Home must be rated by a Certified Home Energy Rater.
  • Rebate amount is $1300.
  • Rebates subject to availability of funds.
  • Customer must be current on previous 12 months of City of Waverly billing to be eligible.
  • Waverly Light and Power reserves the right to inspect and verify equipment installation.
  • Waverly Light and Power reserves the right to modify, amend, or terminate rebate programs in whole or in part at anytime for any reason without prior notice.

ENERGY STAR New Home Program

  1. Schedule a final inspection.Waverly Light and Power will verify the HVAC equipment efficiencies and process the necessary paperwork.
  2. Place your certificate on your electric panel. Once your paperwork is approved, you will receive a certificate from your HERS rater to place on your electric panel that says your home has passed. You will also receive your rebate from WLP at this time.

NOTE: You will not qualify for the ENERGY STAR Option rebate if your home fails the final inspection.
